1 SURFACE WATER DRAINAGE
Surface water drainage system include the collection of rain water from roofs and paved areas. If the proper drainage system is not used surface water flooding may occur. If rain water fall onto a less absorbing surface and it cannot get access into the ground. This sort of flooding may occur due to environment. Therefore it is very important to consider the design of drainage system in any construction process and it need to be done on the early planning stage. (ATKINS, 2013)
Surface water can be drained from UCA building new pitched roof by the following four methods:
– Sewer
– Soakaway
– Storage
– Water Course
Please note local planning regulations may not allow some of the above methods.
The rain water can be collected by the following four ways
– Gutters
– Rainwater pipes
– Symphonic roof drainage system
– Eves drop system
