There are two definitions of culture, the first high culture which is artistic and aesthetic culture such as music, literature, art or theatre. When looking at the evidence to why it is now talked about as cultures firstly it would be advantageous to look at migration over the last century. Bloch and Solomos (2010) state that the UK has gone through three stages of migration since 1905. In 1905 the government bought in legislation known as The Aliens Act, controlling the amount of people that entered the UK.
