When looking further into the constitution, we notice that it is broken into two separate parts. A political constitution, which is defined as one where those wielding power are held accountable through political means through other institutions.  And the legal constitution, which is, defined as enforcing accountability through legal processes.  In the UK, the government has adopted an uncodified constitution, which has resulted in the British government having to establish such legal and political principles in order to control the authority of the government by giving the legislature and the judiciary, power to hold the executive to account. A legal constitution has clearly defined powers through judicial review and the striking down of legislation under section 4 of the Human Rights Act 1998, however a political constitution does not have such devices available to them and…(short extract)
