One thing we can say about disruptive change and innovation is that we can no longer reliably project the future from recent trends. For an organisation to be a winner in times of disruptive change they must learn to think differently.
New possibilities often come from challenging industrywide assumptions. Some examples of organisations that have done this are Amazon, Dell Computers , E-Bay, with the obvious being Apple.
