“EMA Resubmission Question 1 Part a: Discuss two examples of how you used ME627 constructs, such as seeexperiencemaster, when working on mathematics tasks in this module. Analyse the choice and effectiveness of your chosen ME627 constructs in improving your learning. (20 marks) Part B: Discuss two examples of how the structure of attention, i.e. discerning detail, recognising relationships and property-making (looking at wholes, making deductions), informed your future planning for interactions with your learner(s). Introduction

This paper examines the concept of change and how it is required for effective learning.  From my studies throughout the module, I have selected tasks that I feel best examine the theories of change within both mathematical thinking and also mathematical teaching.  I feel these to be most relevant to me because I wanted to question and test the ways I thought about maths, whilst challenging the ways that I delivered the contextual learning of the curriculum.  Due to both my task and topic choices I can reflect upon learning techniques in relation to low attaining students, showing potential benefits that can be obtained from variation in learning methods.

For myself, mathematics is a source of constant interest and challenge, however for many others mathematics is neither of these things and is often met with low achievement and negativity.  I believe is due to the subje…(short extract)
