In exploring the question What makes a good leader, issues immediately arise from the question itself, and is very often dependant upon whom you ask, This essay, on taking a look at the question, will touch on the different types of leadership styles, and will identify the organisational requirements of a good leader and what is expected of them, from a management point of view, in comparison to the requirements and or skills required of a good leader from a workers and/or young persons point of view. The main focus of the essay will concentrate on what makes a good leader of people. Different and contrasting leadership styles and theories will be noted, along with their strengths and weaknesses within a community and youth work setting.
