Research papers must include the following:
Before you observed the social group what were some of your

preconceptions?
What are some common stereotypes about the group
Were the stereotypes accurate? If so how?
4. What sociological purpose do you think the group fills? Use one

sociological perspective to explain the purpose of the group. Cite

where you acquired this information.
How did you personally feel during your interaction with the social

group? Did these feelings surprise you? Did you feel accepted? Did

the experience change any of your preconceptions or did it reinforce

them?
All papers must be at least 4 pages long in a font no larger than 12

pt. It is to be double-spaced. This assignment is field based so much

will be based on your personal opinion and will not require citations.
Number four will need citations. Sources for theory/sociological

perspective may include the text. You can use as many or as few

sources as needed to explain your answer to this question. Any

information used in the rest of the paper that did not come from you

personally must be cited. APA required.
Presentations must be entertaining and informative. A video (made by

you), a game, a guest speaker, a power point, a skit, anything. Do not

stand at the front of the class and read your paper as this may be

entertaining but not informative. There is no minimum time limit but

please keep presentations less than ten minutes in duration.
