Introduction

Cycling infrastructure refers to all infrastructure which may be used by cyclist, such as bike paths and segregated cycle facilities, some also share the same road networks as motorists with the exception of motorways, plus the amenities like bike racks for parking. This report will address the arguments for and against the development of cycle infrastructure through public funding. With the help of social science understanding, making light of issues that on the one hand, raising the awareness of the environmental impact that cycling infrastructure can create with the social and health benefits that cycling can raise and on the other hand, the economic and geographic concerns against the public funding of cycle infrastructure.
