Childhood studies can bring an enormous amount of information to our understanding of childrens lives, some of which include anthropological and sociological aspects of childhood. Where anthropological childhood studies focuses on how different cultures throughout time shaped and continues to shape childhood, sociology focuses on how childhood differs between cultures. Taking one aspect at a time, I will discuss what each of these areas of study can tell us about children`s lives through skill acquisition. Starting with discussing how anthropological studies investigate the way children acquire skills and knowledge, and what this tells us about childrens lives. Following on from that I will focus on sociology to compare different cultures and there different skills acquisition. All of this will be done by viewing Hunn`s 2002 study
