Leadership and management: A reflection of an element of practice that I feel needs to be changed. (Infection control procedures)

During this assignment I aim to reflect on an element of practice that I feel needs to be changed. I will explore change management strategies and leadership and management theory in relation to this change. I will look at clinical governance and how this underpins the strategies and theories and will use an evidence based approach for my findings. The change I am reflecting on will be infection control procedures.

In this reflection the first person will be used as when writing a reflective account it is better to write in the first person (Webb 2002;1992, Hamill,1999). In accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) (2008) Code of Conduct, the place and patient names have been changed.
