Part one:

This assignment aims to explore the development of my professional role.

I have followed the E100 ethical guidelines and all names have been changed to protect identity.  Consent forms for observations to be undertaken have been obtained, including the permission to withdraw at any time.  (The Open University, 2011, pp.138-9).  I am a sole practitioner in a home-based setting and care for two children; Amy, aged fifteen months and Abigail aged six years attending on a full and part time basis.   As a member of the childminding network, I am part of a wider community that shares information regarding implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

Part two:

To begin, I shall reflect on the methods I have used to support children to learn and how they have changed my approach to practice.
