Zygmunt Bauman (1988), divided consumers into two groups, called the seduced and the repressed. Firstly the seduced in Baumans terms, are those who can participate in this consumer society (Bauman cited in Hetherington and Havard, 2014, p. 127). This means that those members of society who have enough money can acquire the lifestyle that they want. The consuming of goods from markets offers the seduced a range of choices for which they can express themselves. These individuals can be the employed, the young, people with good looks, the talented and the old with very good pensions and life savings.
