‘Growth is regionally imbalanced, concentrated on London and the South, while the Midlands and the North do less well.’ Lord Adonis (2014) Policy Network p.19.
Explain economic growth, discuss the regional imbalance and how the UK Government is trying to resolve this problem.

Two regions need to be chosen to be compared throughout the essay (e.g. : London and the northeast)

The essay is asking you to analyse and evaluate national vs regional growth. You must reach a judgement on the question.

You will ned to evaluate the actual policies government is using to resolve the problem.

THE THEORY OF ECONOMIC GROWTH SHOULD FORM NO MORE THAN 40% OF THE MAIN BODY. (Most of the essay is based on research data)

A short definition and different types of supply side policies should be included.

The two regions should be compared in terms of:
