Care always involves a relationship between the person receiving care and the person providing care. How does the quality of that relationship affect the quality of the care given, as well as the experience of receiving care?

So far in Block 1 we have been introduced to 2 main types of care relationships personal and formal. In the case of personal this is where a carer looks after a relative or a neighbour who needs some form of help in doing day to day tasks. This type of relationship tends to be unpaid. When talking about a formal care relationships this is when an outside agency  has been asked to come in and assist in helping someone with the day to day tasks like washing and shopping. This Relationship type is provided by people who are paid by an agency to provide care as a job. Formal relationships can be extended to care professionals in hospitals and doctors surgeries. Although the relationships are extremely different they all have the same goal. In helping the person receiving care live independent lives.
