Gathering together information about a persons condition and quality of life as well as any medical evidence helps to develop a picture about their mental health, the severity of the condition and the treatment it may require. Subjective evidence is the information we can gain from the person experiencing the problem, this is a first-hand account of how they feel and how their problem is affecting their life psychologically and physically, such as low mood. Objective evidence is evidence that can be gathered about the condition by someone else, this can be something physical like palpations and increased heart rate, or a type of behaviour that can be witnessed and measured such as heavy drinking.
