Urban air quality

This project relates to the quality of air in urban areas such as around the University.
Assignment task:
In relation to urban air quality you are asked to discuss each of the following:

1.why it is important to monitor and where possible manage air quality;
2.the basic problems of monitoring air quality such as the rapid variation in concentrations as a result of weather changes;
3.the parameters that should be monitored in respect of urban air. Note you should consider all types of air pollution and not just

those from vehicle emissions;
4.the locations at which you might monitor urban air quality;
5.actions you would recommend to improve local air quality.
You should cite the references you have used (website addresses) and authors and titles of papers, books etc.

the report should be concise and focused on the key issues.

Marking
Marks for each item 1 to 5 above will be approximately equal. 20% of the marks will be available for the overall quality of the

presentation and your research on the topic.
