The Matrix, Crash, or Avatar

The final project for this course is the creation of a final paper that analyzes a cultural product through multiple sociological perspectives. In the paper, you will discuss one of the following

films: The Matrix, Crash, or Avatar. Your account of the movie you have chosen should incorporate the sociological perspectives that were studied in class Such as Conflict

perpective,Anomie,Conflict perspective any works from Berger. If you are unable to access any of these films, you may choose an alternate cultural product (a work of fiction, for example) with

your instructor’s approval.

The final paper must make solid connections and incorporate sociological concepts while also taking into consideration contemporary society and its implications for the individual. It must

comment as well on the ways in which the different perspectives from which you approach the film converge and diverge in their treatment of the movie as empirical evidence. Papers will be

graded based on your incorporation of sociological theory, originality, critical analysis, integration of sources, clarity, and organization.
