Paper instructions:
All Theatre Appreciation Students are required to complete two Playwright and Plays Projects.

The Project consists of a 5 page paper that discusses and analyzes an approved playwright (see list) and 2 examples of their works. The requirements are as follows:

· Background of the playwright –

o Birth date/place and early years

o Education

o Any early influences on their work (childhood issues, political and financial problems, connection to particular themes in their plays)

· Description

o Synopsis of two of their plays

o History of the plays (when written, when/where produced, awards or critical acclaim)

o Analysis of what makes this playwright’s work interesting, unique, memorable
