Compare and contrast it to farming in ancient times, in Europe, and with what Crevecoeur and Jefferson believed about what farming offered in terms of class and citizenship.
After reading the “sharecropper’s contract,” discuss why or why not the contract is fair and reasonable. If you don’t believe it is reasonable, what would make it a fair contract.

A good test of whether or not it is a complete thought is if you can remove it from the discussion and have it still make sense
