Purpose Statement

Research and analyze a recent economic policy (since 2005) of your choice. The policy must clearly have

been enacted to address an economic issue. You can choose a local, state, or national policy.

The research paper will be submitted in different phases beginning this week (Week 4) and running

through Week 10. Before starting the research process, you will need to submit a purpose statement

which then needs to be approved by your instructor. The purpose Statement is a detailed outline at

least ¾ pages in length. It must include the following elements:
•The economic policy to be researched.
•Why the economic policy interests you.
•When the policy was enacted and the problem (market failure) it was intended to correct.

Your purpose statement will eventually act as the introduction for your final paper. Be sure to cite

all references and follow APA format.
