Scenario

Corus Strip Products UK (CSP UK) has undergone “The Journey” – a plan for changing the organisational culture of the business. They have provided you with a case study analysis of their strategy and interim findings, and have asked you to appraise their process and suggest improvements.

Assessment tasks

• Describe how barriers to change may be formed through employee perception, attribution and motivation, both at an individual and group level.

• Identify features of perceptual distortion that could influence an employee’s view of the change process. Analyse potential solutions to these distortions.

• Evaluate the efforts of Corus to overcome these barriers, and provide recommendations for further changes.

• Outline an appropriate leadership technique that Corus could adopt to ensure a successful change process. Justify why you consider this approach to be more suitable than others.
