After reading the Week 1 Lesson, which quotes Diehl’s (2005) introductory work on international organizations (IOs), and after completing the first readings, think about your own perception of such organizations. Do you find IOs effective and purposeful actors in the international system? Why or why not? What IOs, or kinds of IOs, do you find the most effective or necessary and why? Please mention different types of IOs (e.g., IGOs or NGOs) to explain your answer.

Instructions: Your initial post should be at least 500 words. Please respond to at least two other students. Responses should be a minimum of 250 words. All three required posts should be supported by course readings using parenthetical references.
