While modernism is a literary genre like the earlier ones in which male writers predominated, it was also a genre in which women writers flourished. Several female American poets contributed to the canon, with Hilda Doolittle (H.D.) leading the list. Focusing on H.D.’s use of mythology, compare and contrast her work with that of either Pound or Eliot and, in doing so, determine whether any conclusions can be made about modernism as created by male versus female poets.
