Homelessness and the Mentally Ill
Opposing Perspectives
Part of being a good scholar-practitioner is being open to opposing perspectives. Although you might find yourself searching for perspectives you readily agree with, you should search for competing views as well. At times, your original perspective on the topic might even change. By searching, reading, and evaluating resources from diverse perspectives, you can improve your final understanding of your research topic and prevent personal bias in your research.
To prepare for this Discussion, do a broad search on your topic in the Walden University Library or Internet. Choose one peer-reviewed journal article on your Final Project topic with which you find yourself readily agreeing and one with which you disagree.
With these thoughts in mind:
Post by Day 4 a brief description of your Final Project topic. Then, explain two opposing perspectives in the literature related to your topic. Finally, explain insights or conclusions you gained as a result. Be specific.
