Generation of Emotions: Activation of Emotion Knowledge and Arousal

Generation of Emotions: Activation of Emotion Knowledge and Arousal

Project description

1.See research paper(to understand whats happening), read rubric(make sure every point is tackle) and experiment data(for the results)
2.Results Section (1 to 2 pages plus figures and/or tables)
3. Discussion (1 to 2 pages)
Results Section (20 pts) (1 to 2 pages plus figures and/or tables)
1. Descriptive statistics (e.g., means and standard deviations) (5pts) _____
reported for all study variables.
2. Proper inferential statistics reported (i.e., does your statistic match your design)
(5pts) _____
a. What alpha was adopted?
3. Primary analyses performed and reported accurately (5pts) _____
and clearly.
a. Including statistics reported using correct APA format?
4. All graphs, figures, and/or tables neat, clear, (5pts) _____
and follow APA format (Must have at least 1 graph, figure or table)
I. Descriptive Statistics
a. Report the M and SD for all study variables (except for demographic information).
i. Mostly this is going to be the mean and SD for the dependent variable. However, the political psychology group would report descriptive information about the initial political affiliation questions here.

ii. Interpret these descriptive statistics if you can…

b. Inferential Statistics
i. Please state the following: “To test all study hypotheses we adopted an alpha level of .05.”
ii. State the inferential statistic used to test the hypotheses:
Options: 1) Independent-samples t-test
2) ANOVA (what type of ANOVA, e.g., One-way, 2 x 2 etc.)

iii. Describe the results of the test. There was a significant main effect of self-esteem such that… There was not a main effect of gender… The interaction between self-esteem and gender was not significant.

Example:

The results of an independent samples T-test revealed that salesclerks who waited on well-dressed customers (M = 43.38, SD = 10.11) took significantly less time, t (14) = 2.61, p = .021, to respond to customers than salespeople who waited on customers dressed in sloppy clothing (M = 63.25, SD = 12.54).

Examples in Book (“Translating Statistics into Words”):
• Independent Samples T-Test- p.229
• One Way ANOVA- p. 259
• Factorial ANOVA- p. 295

iv. Create a graph or figure to depict the nature of your results.
