Gantt Chart

You have been hired as a systems analyst. The project manager gave you the following network diagram and a matching table on the

following page so that you can create a Gantt chart and a network diagram for the IS project. Since you are familiar with Microsoft

Project as a project management software tool, you decided to use it to accomplish this task.
Requirements
1. Launch MS Project
o Go to Start button | All Programs | Microsoft Office | Microsoft Office Project
o If you get installation or error messages, then press Cancel.
2. On the first screen, select “Blank Project”.
3. Using Project, enter the following data:
o You may simply cut and paste the data from the table into Project one cell at a time, since pasting the entire table in one

shot causes problems. Do not enter anything in the Start and Finish columns.
o If necessary, manipulate/move the center divider/split to show the five column headings below in Project.

4. Right-mouse click on the right pane (where the timelines are shown), and select Nonworking Time | Middle Tier tab | under

Middletier formatting, under Units: choose months. Repeat the same for the Bottom Tier tab | under Bottom tier formatting, under Units:

choosemonths.
5. Go to the View tab | Task Views group, click Task Usage (top icon) to view the network diagram.
