Documenting the Erie Canal

For this assignment, you will write a short response paper after following this link to an 1829 account of a traveler on the Erie Canal. As you will see, the traveler enjoyed some aspects of his journey, but did not enjoy others. In your paper (which should be at least 300 words in length), discuss one thing the traveler liked and one thing he did not like, and relate both to the larger theme of “the transport and communications revolutions” discussed in the textbook.
