SECOND MEETING with tutor

The results should be comparative by looking at the policies with a very broad brush. Contextualizing the child protection policies in different parts of the world. Speak about Ideal welfare regimes and the arrangement of different countries about their welfare arrangements. Like, the rights of women, the rights of children and the (opposite) connections between the political, culture and the traditions. Look at how the Britain’s children laws and policies have developed as a kind of in-depth case. And, looking at the restrictions in the middle-east.
• Comparison broad brush analysis by looking at different child protection policies in different parts of the world.
• Features of the child protection policies.
• There has been quite have done in the European union.
• There is the need of analytic depth. Comparison will be good by taking in consideration U.K., European Country(s), the Americas to that of the Middle-east.
• Political traditions that enable child protection, why some countries are better in child protection and why other countries are not? Like, Welfare states for ex. Sweden.
• Focus on child regimes in the multicultural context.
• Focus on the social movements that has given rise to greater child protection in historical context because it would be quite interesting to see that where the pressures comes from? When child protection becomes an issue and how and when later it becomes a legislation with a very broad brush by looking at different countries.
• You can find stuff like this in Finland(Finnish), U.S.
• Draw out different facets about why the child protection has taken different form in different countries.
• It is not sufficient to look at the U.K. alone for the child protection model. It would be better to look at the others countries model as well.
• How the child protection model in the U.K. came about? And what are the lessons can be learned about from the different countries. The role played by the social, political, economical of these countries.
• What is the basis of change in the countries for the child protection.
• See, U.N. research on children’s rights.
• Draw out certain common features about the countries that has made policies for the child’s protection laws and by looking at different definition at what children’s are and what are the rights of the children are.
