Glossary of Literary Terms (p. 1204)

Overview Both of your assignments this week are related to each other. You will be looking at poetic elements (like simile and imagery) and thinking about which of the poems that we read use the elements the most and which use them the least. For the first assignment, you will focus on which poem uses each element the least.
Directions 1. Open up the “Least Used Matrix” Document on your course materials page
2. Look over the Glossary of Literary Terms of p. 1204 to be sure that you understand what each term means.
3. For each term, select the poem that uses the poetic element the least (if at all)
4. After you have selected the poem, explain why you selected the poem.
