Question 1 – Native apps are downloaded and installed through app stores such as The Apple App Store or Google Play and are then accessed by tapping the icon on the devices home screen (Budiu, 2013).

They can be designed to use the devices features such as the camera, the GPS (Global Positioning System), Barcode, QR code scanning as well as the accelerometer which in layman’s terms is the feature that allows the devices screen to rotate (Budiu, 2013).

Mobile games are usually built as native apps as they can take full advantage of the fast performance of the mobile device and they do not usually require an internet connection once downloaded so there is usually no issues with downtime. (Jones, 2012).
