My role

I am a volunteer classroom assistant, working in a primary school that caters for pupils in nursery to year 4. I mainly work with in Year 2 with 26 Children, one full day a week. My role in the classroom varies from week to week. I also work in school as a Lunchtime supervisory Assistant.

The Teacher.

I help and support the teacher prepare for the day ahead. This often includes photocopying resources, laminating resources, setting up tables with resources and mounting the children’s work ready to be displayed around the classroom and school. (PPS 4.3)

The Children and support in the Curriculum.

During registration the children change their library books, I record which book they have chosen, the children then have a task to complete which is on the smart board or corrections to do from the previous days work. I work my way round the classroom and help and support the ch…(short extract)
