Introduction

For this assignment, I aim to critically reflect upon my developing professional role as a senior practitioner and discuss how the three elements of carer, technician and reflective researcher will influence my practice.  As a sole practitioner, I regularly partner with another childminder whereby we share resources and exchange ideas to meet the changing needs of the children in our care.  In addition, we rotate regular play sessions amongst a small community of childminders to extend the childrens play opportunities, discuss policy and the implementing of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum (EYFS, Department for Education, 2014).  My home-based setting consists of an indoor and all weather outdoor undercover play area to enable children to move freely between spaces.  There are four children attending my setting, on a full and part time basis within the early y…(short extract)
