1. Abstract.
The role of automatic and controlled processes was examined in an experiment by employing a Stroop-effect type of experiment, previous research found that response time was longer when the words used were names of colours than non-coloured name words. These results have been used in support of a Two process theory of attention. In the present experiment the response times for colour-related and colour-neutral words was manipulated. The results showed that the time recall for the colour-related words was longer than the colour-neutral words providing further support for a Two process theory.
2. Introduction.
Attention is a process of selection from the environment around us, what gets our attention and what does not, this is because the mind has a limited-capacity central processor, (Kahneman, 1973, cited in Edgar, 2007, pg.11), it has insufficie…(short extract)
