How the East has created opportunity in adversity for uniting and reinforcing its community?
Project description
This research paper is based on the common idea that was
mentioned in the following 5 articles.
( 1, Banks, J. “MTV and the Globalization of Popular Culture.” International Communicatio Gazette )
( 2, De Kloet, Jeroen. “Popular Music and Youth in Urban China: The Dakou Generation.” The China Quarterly )
( 3, Rupke, Heidi Netz, and Blank, Grant. ““Country Roads” To Globalization: Sociological Models for Understanding American Popular Music in China.” The Journal of Popular Culture )
( 4, Saldanha, Arun. “Music, Space, Identity: Geographies of Youth Culture in Bangalore.” Cultural Studies )
( 5, Ho, Wai-Chung, and Law, Wing-Wah. “The Struggle between Globalization Nationalism and Music Education in Hong Kong.” Music Education Research )
These 5 articles focus on the fact that the West has taken a dominant position in creating influences in the increasingly global music society during the past few decades, for instance, music educational curriculum in China included learning Western music instead of Chinese songs. And this has posed serious challenges to the cultural identities of peoples from different parts of the world. In this paper, I intend to focus on how different countries, especially in the East, have raised awareness on the unbalanced trend of globally shared music. The focus on this imbalance will help in creating understanding on how the East has reacted towards Western dominance in music trends. In essence, this study will be answering the following question: “How the East has created opportunity in adversity for uniting and reinforcing its community?” Several non-scholarly articles should be used in order to support the research paper and also qualitative method is suggested to us in order to create a study that assesses the sociological implications of Western music and the resultant impacts of raising awareness in a bid to protect the traditional cultures and sense of nationalism in the East. Please make the paper sounds as scholarly as possible and please do include definitions of terms and words when it is necessary. Reported speech should also be used in the research paper in order to refer or to cite the voices of the authors in the given articles. Those scholarly articles that will be used in the research paper should be as the follow:
