According to Natural Law ethics, individuals reserve the right to protest and change any law or norm which violates fundamental natural

rights. We can approach question of women’s rights from this perspective or, like Harriet T. Mill, use utilitarian principles to make the

case for women’s rights. Utilizing the article below (see link), explain how utilitarian theory can be applied to the question of

traditional marriage practices. What do you believe cases such as these say about the status of women in “traditional” societies? Are

these violations of universal moral laws? Why?
