The requirement for the cache memory is because of the principle memory and the CPU. Thus, regardless of how quick the processor is, the processing speed depends more on the speed of the fundamental memory (the quality of a chain is the quality of its weakest connection). The cache memory stores the program (or its part) as of now being executed or which might be executed inside a brief timeframe.
