Technology Research Paper

Objective: To highlight impact that specific technology can have on business and a technology support manager or practitioner.

The paper should be organized into an introduction, body, and conclusion.

Introduction: Serve as an overview of the chosen technology’s features and functionality.

Body: More detail on how the technology works and value to business. Specifically address the following questions:

1) What business value would this technology bring to a business as a tool (Cost vs benefit)?
2) How will this technology integrate with existing systems used by business and what will it likely replace?
3) What issues or considerations must the technology’s support team and manager have to deal with and manage through?
4) How would you sell the majority of users on adoption (this usually falls to technology owners not necessarily business)?

Conclusion:Summarize estimated cost of implementation to include time duration. Briefly describe how you would implement (project, just do it, or hire outside vendor)

Specific Requirements:READ and UNDERSTAND THOROUGHLY
– 7 to 9 double-spaced typed pages, size 11/12 font, 1” margins
– Include a “Reference” page; does not count toward total page count and must be in the APA style.
– Graphs, charts, or diagrams encouraged only if they clarify/help to illustrate the author’s points; will notcount towards more than two pages of the minimum page count.
– In lieu of a title page, attach the “Grading Form” supplied. Papers WILL NOT be accepted/graded without this
– Pages without proper citations (within the body of the text) to the information’s original source will be considered plagiarized and a grade of “F” given. If you are unsure of what this means, ASK! Example: (Drucker, p23, 2001)
– Must deliver 4-6 minute briefing of your research paper using PowerPoint to the class on final class session.
– Must cite from at least 3 separate sources. There are many technology periodicals on the Internet as well as vend or sites. Must choose one of the following. Any other topic requires approval from instructor.

Grading criteria:

25pts: Grammar, spelling, & punctuation

125pts: Quality of analysis and extent that questions are answered.

50 pts: Presentation (quality of slides i.e.: easy to read not busy, quality of oral delivery).
