Choose one artist to research whose work appeals to you. It must be one of the artists that is in our textbook and whom worked
during or after the Proto Renaissance. In other words, he or she is mentioned in chapters 14 through 25. It may be an artist that
we have talked about in the lecture or not. Write about at least 3 works of art that this artist produced. Only 1 work of art may
be from our textbook. (Please include images of the others. You can find many images using Google and www.wga.hu.).
Describe how the 3 artworks reflect the artist’s style and/or historical period. That is, how typical or atypical are the works.
Describe at least 3 stylistic traits for each work of art. (For example, if you chose an artist known for International Gothic
style, you may talk about how the artist portrays space, use of gold, rich patterning and so forth. That is, the stylistic
conventions of this period.) This should be the majority of the paper. You may start by writing a little about the artist’s life to
put the works in context (no more than a third of a page). For each work of art, write about/point out 3 stylistic traits for that
period.
The paper should be at least 2 pages (not including the works cited page), double spaced and in 12 point font, (New Time Roman or
similar font to be used) Please no odd size fonts or formatting.
I will use the Evaluation Sheet (listed below) to grade each paper. Please double check this before submitting your paper.

Papers are graded between 60 to 100 points. Anything below 60 will not be given a grade.
All papers must be submitted via this link in Canvas.
The paper must have at least three sources, one of which may be our textbook. Sources must be PROPERLY DOCUMENTED with in text
citations and a Works Cited page. You may use Internet sources, but be very careful and make sure that they are academic sources.
Use only .edu sites or official museum sites. For example, Wikipedia should not be used because it is not peer reviewed. If you are
not sure about an online source, please check with a reference librarian. Delgado’s Library is in building 10, City park campus.
Also, on 2 hour reserve is Janson’s History of Art which you may find useful and use as another source. This link to our Delgado
library resources is also very useful: http://www.dcc.libguides.com/art
