The table devises a summary of Bandura and colleagues (1963) findings into what extent children will imitate modelled aggressive behaviour. The two experimental conditions involved children being exposed to a live model and film model that behaved aggressively towards a Bobo doll. Children in the controlled condition were not exposed to any aggressive behaviour or modelled violence therefore the data is not broken down into the model gender as a model wasnt required.
On average boys performed more aggressive acts than girls with girls performing a total average of 326 and boys 480.3. Similarities between boys and girls include a higher average of aggression with a female model for boys (114.5) and girls (87.0) in the film model. Differences include boys with a female model (76.8) in the live model condition were on average less than with a male model (131.8). However girls…(short extract)
