In this TMA, I shall be examining the argument that identities of place be a source of inclusion and exclusion. The argument is sited from an article written in The Guardian. I shall be looking at the identities of people and places whilst linking the relationship between the two. Also studying chapters 4,5,6 from Making Social Lives (2009) will help me to link the topics of race and ethnic identities with rural and urban backgrounds.
Identity is such a widely used word within society, you cant pin identity down to one subject. Proof of identity, social identity, age, sex, race, religion, sexual orientation are all parts of each individuals identity and thats what makes each and every one of us unique. Identities can be a source of both inclusion and exclusion depending on certain criteria such as race and religion.
