Part 1 – In this essay I am going to describe and summarise the contents of a table of quantitative evidence. The information in the table gives figures of a Census taken in 2011 that shows figures of all the ethnic groups in national parks of England and Wales.

The table is presented with a horizontal axis with nineteen categories. The categories consist of five main ethnic groups, White, Mixed, Asian, Black and finally two categories labelled Other. All the categories each have a subgroup that gives information on the nationality of each ethnic group. The table shows that in the national parks the population is mainly dominated by White\ British. The White/ British category consists of English, Welsh, Scottish and Northern Irish. The total population of all the national parks is 402,904. The White/ British population makes up 382,731 of the total figure. In percentage terms …(short extract)
