Antony was first discredited in Octavians speech. This can be shown by Octavian making statements and comments to discredit Antony. For example: he had risen from his place and anointed her feet. This is discrediting Antony, because this statement suggests behaviour that is inappropriate for men of this era. It is almost as if this statement has been used to defame Antony for all to hear.
As at this point Octavian is speaking to a large group when discussing Antonys burial. This also discredits Antony, as despite the fact he is not present, those listening may believe what Octavian is saying and think poorly of Antony.
