Your organization is growing, but has a tenured aging workforce with outdated job descriptions. You were tasked with evaluating the workforce needs and have determined that the organization needs several new supervisor positons and one mid-level manager. Recently a tenured employee who turned 50 years old last year complained about potential discrimination in promotion opportunities. In particular, the employee indicated that he was passed over for a promotion opportunity when his younger boss suddenly began writing negative performance reviews. However, there was no job description for the employee to compare with his suddenly poorly rated performance. As a result one of your actions is to review the job requirements and the promotion process to ensure equal opportunity.
In this challenge you will use the SHRM, O*net, and EEOC web sites. In this assignment you will demonstrate skill in identifying and using credible and reliable sources of information as well as applying APA formatting.

Essay (fall session) (40 % of grade)
Describe how you would conduct a job analysis to update jobs descriptions and how an updated job description may assist you with the employee’s complaint about potential discrimination in the promotion process. Inform your response with information from the required readings (Mathis, Jackson, & Valentine, 2014) and at least one other source. Paraphrase only, no direct quotes. Properly cite and reference in APA all sources of information. This response should be 400 to 500 words in length (about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 pages double spaced).
Resources (35% of grade)
Investigate the SHRM, O*net, and EEOC web sites and identify a total of five resources (at least one from each web site) that you believe would assist you in developing human resource management skills identified in your response to the first question as well as completion of tasks related to providing equal employment opportunities in the workplace, conducting a job analysis, or job design. Provide a brief summary of each resource as well as a link to the resource, correct APA citation, and references. This response should be 50 to 100 words in length per resource (about 4 to 8 lines of text).
Written Requirements (25% of grade – 10% layout and 15% APA)
Your response to this assignment should include a title page, body of the paper, and reference page. The essay and resources should be addressed separately and should include separate headings. The text should be Times New Roman, black, 12 point font. One inch margins all around. No direct quotes, paraphrase in your own words. Your response should be within the designated word count range. Your assignment should be uploaded by the midnight of the due date.
