Need for the Valuation of Business

The flowing aspects are considered as a whole for the valuation of the business:
Mergers and Acquisitions: For the purpose of the mergers and acquisitions the valuation of a business i considered to be the prime focus and before the valuation procedure is performed no other aspect of it can be considered as a whole. The acquirer here needs the information of the valuation of the business so that he may make a decision to acquire the business by paying goodwill or not.
Sales of the Business: For the purpose of the selling of buying of the business both the seller as well as the buyer of the business needs to value the business to come at a consensus overall. Without that there would be a disparity between them.
Liquidation Proceedings: In case of the Liquidation proceedings the liquidator determines the value of the business so that the correct value of the business can be taken and considered. The shareholders in this case require the value of the business from the liquidator, to get the status that how much would be realised from the business after the liquidation.
