Here are questions to use as a guide when evaluating a piece of music for this class. Musical era (such as Baroque or Romantic)? Performer or ensemble (with name of conductor and/or soloist)? Instrument(s) or type of ensemble heard? Was there a soloist and on which instrument? ……………………………………………………….. What type of mood did it attempt to establish? Did the mood of the piece change? Did the piece change much dynamically? Did it change much tempo-wise? Did the tone color/timbre change much? Was the melody line easily discernable throughout the piece? What characteristics of the musical era did you hear? What was the form of the piece? Have you heard this piece before? Did you like it? (rate it 1-10?)
