Major Package Research

You are on the edge of a new academic experience, and it is important tobegin self-exploration for your
major selection. For this assignment, you will writetwo short research essays on two engineering majors
that you are most interested in. You will select two of the provided major packages of your choice that
can be found in Canvas.You will select four different resources (1 must be a video) from each package
to write your two essays.

Each essay should meet aword count of at least 500 wordsand should not be longer than 2 pages in
length, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12-pt font.At the end of your essay, you must include a works
cited page in APA format of the sources you used.

When writing about the major you selected, be descriptive! Be sure to answer the following questions:

• What does a career in this major look like?
• What does this major focus on?
• What is interesting about this major?
• What did you learn about this major that you did not know before?
• What do you like about this major?
• What don’t you like about this major?
• Why is this engineering major important and how does it contribute to our world?

In your conclusion, state your final thoughts about this major. Are you still interested in this major?
What surprised you about this major? Do you plan on pursuing this major? What other majors do you want
to explore?

Do not answer every question in order as a list. Use the questions as prompts, and incorporate your
answers into your essays.
