Interview with Middle or older adult

Human Behavior and the social environment.
In this assignment , students will be interviewing and adult (45 >years of age or older) about content found in the Zastrow and Kirst-Ashman book and as discussed in class relating to young and middle adulthood development. Some topics may be difficult to talk about , so try and be as sensitive as possible when discussing each area. Please remember you role s a student, meaning the person who is interviewed is not your client, however, the interviewee should be treated with respect and their name and identifying information should not be shared.

During the interview, students will ask questions related to biological, psychological and sociological development of older adults. Make sure to ask the adult about areas 1-3 below (depending on how long the interview goes, students may need to break it u into 2 interviews). After the interview, the students will type up a summary of the results.

The paper should summarize the interview in the 3rd person. The summary should include observations of yourself and non-verbal communicate that occurred in each section. Make sure to discuss non-verbal cues that the interview seems to be conveying.

Format the assignment using the headings for the following 5 areas. The assignment should be at least 500 words long. This means that if the interview e provides a one word or one sentence answer, students will need to ask follow up questions to get more explanation and detail.

1. Introduction
a. Demographic information
2. Have the interviewee describe a situation of joy
3. Have the interviewee describe a situation of crises
4. Identify at least two biological, psychological or sociological aspects of adulthood that relate to the situations that the interviewee shared. Explain how they relate.
5. Conclusion

Remember to include your observations of non-verbal communication which occurred throughout the interview.
