Interpretations of Value of Rank Correlation

An increasing Rank Correlation coefficient indicates increasing association between rankings of variables. The coefficient lies in the interval [-1, 1] and assumes the following values:
+1 when the two rankings are same or in same agreement.
0 in case there is a complete independency between rankings.
-1 if one ranking is exactly the reverse of the other of same variable.
