Welcome to the first Discussion Board for our online Internship class. In other classes this discussion would be called an “ice breaker” in an effort to form a community and to get to know each other. While our first discussion will meet this objective, it goes beyond that. Here, and in the weeks that follow, we will learn about each other’s internship positions and the challenges that we face at work. We will brainstorm ideas to overcome those challenges and we will chat about ways to enhance our Internship experiences. Let’s begin by commenting (in detail) on the following items:

1) Let us know about your major and why you chose to study this discipline.

2) Provide us with an overview of your company’s business and the industry in which it operates.

3) Share your career aspirations. Do you see your current organization and industry providing the opportunities to fulfill your career goals? If so, what might be the next logical step in your career path at this organization. If not, what next steps do envision taking in order to achieve your career goals?
