How much does the Attlee Governments achievement owe to the Second World War?

In the 1945 election, Labour won a landslide victory.  They gained 393 seats in a house of 640.  For the first time in the history of the party, Labour formed a government with an overall majority.  Lead by Clement Attlee, the new administration replaced the war-time coalition of 1940-1945.  Set up in the interests of national unity, the Churchill-headed coalition successfully saw off the Nazis.  However, the war-time government also proved to be the greatest reforming administration since the Liberal governments of 1905-1914, introducing social security for all, family allowances, major education reforms, the NHS, Keynesian budgetary, full employment policies, and town and country planning.  The success of the Attlee government does indeed owe a great deal to the Second World War….(short extract)
